The 2021 Experience

FILMING PROCESS

Each studio will be given a designated time slot to present their routines on stage for filming purposes. One studio at a time with zero crossovers.

 

VIRTUAL PROGRAM

Once the filming process is finished, routines will be rearranged into their appropriate categories and broadcasted in its entirety. You will receive a virtual schedule separate from your filming schedule.

 

AWARDS

All awards will be announced during our virtual program. Please check your virtual schedule for award session times. All awards will be delivered to each studio.

 

FINAL SHOWDOWN

At the end of our virtual program, 2 routines per studio (with 10 or more group entries) plus 2 wild cards will be broadcasted a second time in our Final Showdown. Stay tuned for final awards.

 

FREE MEDIA

Dancers may download their photos and videos for free through the Dakiki App minutes after dancing.

 

ADJUDICATIONS

Video adjudication will be sent to your studio shortly after the filming process has finished.

Pre-arrival

HEALTH & WELLNESS CHECK

Each individual must read, sign and submit the document upon arrival. With a cleared wellness check, a mandatory temperature check will take place before entering the venue.

SYMPTOMS

If experiencing flu like symptoms, please stay home.

MASKS

Masks are mandatory on and off the stage.

WATER

Please bring your own water as water stations will not be provided.

Arrival

ARRIVE ON TIME

Each studio will be presented with a specific time block and holding room. You will not be authorized early or late access to the building. You must respect your designated time slot.

ARRIVE READY

All dancers must arrive on site ready for their first routine. This includes hair and make up.

ENTRANCE & EXIT

Designated entrance and exits points will be clearly marked. Please use appropriate access points.

NO RE-ENTRY

Pack all necessary belongings as there will be no re-entry into the venue.

PICK UP & DROP OFF

Drop off dancers at the designated location. A studio representative will escort dancers to the entrance where a crew member will check in each dancer.

HEALTH & WELLNESS CHECK

Each individual will be sent a health and wellness check 24 hours prior to your designated arrival time. Please read, sign and submit the document upon arrival.

TEMPERATURE CHECK

With a cleared wellness check, a mandatory temperature check will take place before entering the venue.

MASKS

Face coverings are mandatory throughout the venue. This includes on stage. Please ensure your mask is fastened over your mouth and nose.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

Remain 6 feet apart at all times in public areas and holding areas.

WASH YOUR HANDS

Sanitization stations will be placed throughout the venue. We ask that you please use them and wash your hands often.

Filming Process

SOCIALLY DISTANCED CHOREOGRAPHY & CONTACT

No physical contact can be made at any venue. Dancers may change formations as they please. There is a “Socially Dis-Dancing” option for choreography if you maintain social distance and in personal boxes for choreography.

 

DANCER NUMBER LIMITS

Our Richmond, Abbotsford and Mission programs will allow a maximum of 40 dancers on stage.

 

AGE RESTRICTION
Due to provincial restrictions this is a children only program. Please submit all adult routines by video only.

 

PROPS

Props that can be carried by dancers onto the stage are permitted. No large props will be accepted.

 

MASKS

Face coverings must be worn by all dancers while on stage. This includes same family dancers and soloists.

 

RETURNING TO THE HOLDING AREA

Once you finish your routine, you will return to the holding area where you will change for your next routine. All dancers must wait until the session is finished before exiting the venue.

 

COSTUME CHANGES

We understand some dancers may have an abundance of costume changes. Ample time will be provided between routines. Keep all hair and makeup the same for all routines.

 

AUDIENCE

No audience will be permitted at any location.

Exit & Studio Swap

EXIT

Once you exit, there is no returning to the venue so please make sure you have all your belongings. Please exit through the designated exit point.

 

MERCH

Merchandise will be available for online purchase through the QR code presented at the merchandise table.

 

SANITIZATION & VENTILATION

We will have one ballroom set aside as a holding space for participants to rest and change for the next routine. The second ballroom will remain empty for sanitation and ventilation to prepare for the next arriving studio. All high touch areas will be cleaned frequently.

 

WORKSHOPS

Our expert mentors will be leading complimentary zoom workshops on the last day of filming.

Failure To Comply

Failure to comply may impact the health and safety of others. You may be removed from the venue immediately.

Studio Directors

Please ensure all registration and payment is submitted 8 weeks prior to your start date.

 

All music must be submitted through your Dance Comp Genie account 2 weeks prior to your designated arrival.

 

Sign and submit your 2021 studio waiver before arrival.

 

Ensure all dancers have access to their health and wellness check provided by The One Dance Experience 24 hours before arrival. All individuals must read, sign and submit this document to be granted entry into the venue.

 

All studios must submit the full names of their studio representatives. A limited number of representatives will be permitted per studio.
